- The competition is open to full or part time MBA Students.
- All communications from the organizing committee will be in English.
- A team arriving late at any step of the competition will be disqualified
Business plan competition
A team is composed of 1 or 2 participants.
The competition will consist of two rounds. The participants have to present their business ideas to the judging committee. Each team has to send a 1 page executive summary to the organizing committee by Friday march 12th, 17:00 Pm. It should be sent via e-mail to Pablo.Larocque@hec.ca
Round 1
Each participant will have 3 minutes to present its business idea to the judges. A 2 minutes Q&A period will follow.
Evaluation:
Performance will be evaluated on an individual basis according the matrix below.
Round 2
4 teams will be qualified for the second round. The participants will have to deliver an oral presentation of their business plan to the judging committee. The presentations have to last at least 10 minutes and maximum 15 minutes. Participants are expected to have prepared their presentation prior to the competition day. The participants might use a PowerPoint presentation or acetate overheads (provided by the Organizing committee). Upon request from the participants, a preparation room can be assigned for a period of 2 hours.
The time allocated will be strictly enforced. A yellow warning will be lifted by the academic coordinator 30 seconds before the end of time devoted to the presentation (15 minutes). Then another red warning will be shown at the end of regulation time, to indicate the end of the presentation.
Evaluation:
The business idea presented has to integrate or address corporate responsibility within the organization. The ideas will be judged according to the creativity, feasibility and quality of the analysis presented. |
